Missing Live Theatre:
Paisley Observatory

Having to continue my studies during the unprecedented times of a global pandemic, this project was inspired by missing the theatre and how we had to alter and take a new perceptive to our art, in order to align with the Covid-19 guidelines. We were to reinvigorate a site that had been previously forgotten and create a narrative surrounding the significance of the place. I chose to set my project at Coats Observatory in Paisley, with the theme based on the act of a supernova as the inspiration. My characters also embodied to the rebirth and opportunity created by Coats and the legacy he left behind for Paisley. This particular costume I made was influenced by a Neutron star, with the rebirth and remnants left behind after the supernova explosion. They also symbolically represented the children who were allowed to thrive and shine due to Coat's philanthropic actions.
